Derek Blasberg is a fashion editor, curator, and best-selling author, and contributing editor at Harper’s Bazaar, where he previously served as the magazine’s youngest-ever editor at large. Born and raised in St. Louis, Derek attended New York University. His first job was as an assistant at Vogue. In his career, he has also served as the first-ever Head of Fashion & Beauty at YouTube, the host of CNN Style on CNN International, and a media and culture consultant on all four seasons of HBO’s Succession. He is the author of the three books, including a collection of humorous essays about etiquette entitled Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady (2010), and its sequel, Very Classy: Even More Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady (2012), as well as Harper’s Bazaar: Models (2015), a survey of the most influential faces in fashion history. He has been a senior staffer at Gagosian Gallery since 2014 and is currently executive editor of Gagosian Quarterly. In 2023, he collaborated with the Richard Avedon Foundation as a curator on “Avedon 100,” an exhibition devoted to the photographer's centenary. He lives on New York with his partner, Nick, and two children, Grace and Noah.
