The human mind has a way of complicating things, it has a way of taking you down rabbit hole after rabbit hole looking for answers, but ultimately you never find what you are looking for. The human heart on the other hand will give you all the answers you need and will help shift your state of being. It can often do this in a very dramatic way if you let it happen. When the heart takes control, then the mind is ruled by something that can't be manipulated. Love. This brings about a permanent shift in your own state and sends out a shock wave that impacts all of humanity. This has been a difficult week for Americans, in this article you will find 7 tips which you can use to unwind, reset, and ultimately let your heart run the show.

1) Emotions: Fear, hate, despair, panic, anxiety, grief are some of the common emotions that you may be feeling right now. This is a normal human response, don't feel bad about your emotions. What is important is how you deal with them. You must learn to feel them, really feel them, because if you don't, you may experiences blockages which will impact your health and the health of those around you. You may have heard people telling you to put your emotions in a box or focus on the love and the light. Yes, this may have benefits, but only if you are not ignoring your feelings. There are three primary things you can do to help transmute your negative emotions. One: talk with someone who will listen to you and not judge. Note that it can be hard to find people like this. Two: Write down what you are feeling, get it all out on paper. Three: Let the feelings out however you need to, if you need to yell, do so.

2) Nature: Nature has a way of making people feel good. It has a way of clearing the mind and transmuting whatever negative emotions you may be dealing with. Humans have been using nature for therapeutic purposes for thousands of years. I like to imagine nature as a therapist of sorts. It listens to you on a very deep level without judging, it then brings clarity to your mind and often a new perspective on what you are dealing with. It is free and doesn't require you take any medication either. Be sure to set an intention before going into nature. Your intention might be to seek guidance in how you can contribute to humanity in this time. Be sure to bring a notebook, because if you approach your time in nature this way, you will surely be rewarded with ideas that you could never have imagined.

3) Play: I often ask people when the last time they did something playful was. Most can't remember. Being playful can mean playing a sport, or playing a game or dancing or just being goofy. Imagine you are a small child playing in the park at recess. Children can have fun with very little. If you watch them it is almost as if they are entering this imaginary world that we can't see. You should try and enter that imaginary world this weekend.

4) Move: Get out and move. More specifically, get out of your head and into your body. The human mind likes to analyze things. Stop that. Get into your body and feel it, much like I want you to feel your emotions. Don't do what you normally do - i.e. weights, yoga, running, cycling, etc. Do something different. This can involve hiking, playing a sport that you haven't played in a while, or dancing. Dancing and hiking have already been mentioned and really are a phenomenal way to balance the mind and body. You don't have to be a good dancer either, just put on some music and move.

5) E-Holiday: Immediately after you read this article, consider taking a 48hr break of all electronics. While the internet, television, social media etc. can have a positive addition to the world in terms of spreading truth, it can have a major negative in terms of manipulating and programming your mind. You may have noticed that your hardest times the last few days were after seeing a post on social media, or after you read an article or after you watched the news. Maybe you were even feeling better and then something set you off again. Take a break from all of these things. The only thing that I would not take off the table is music. Listen to music if that relaxes you, but if you are going to listen to music and check social media, then you may want to skip it.

6) Give Back: One of the simplest way to cultivate heart centered thinking is to do something for someone else. This doesn't not have to be with money (although it can be) and this doesn't require time. It can be as simple as smiling at someone that you make eye contact with, or giving someone your seat on the subway. If you want to give free hugs that works also. The feeling you get when doing nice things for people out of pure love is hard to explain, but it is one that should be practiced regularly in life.

7) Flow: This may be the hardest for people to comprehend until you have done the steps above, so maybe save this for last. Out of the darkness, comes the light. If there was no darkness you would not know what the light is. There is a duality that exists in the world which cannot be denied. The world is changing at a very rapid rate. Do your best to go with the flow.
