Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have been on a well-publicized, rocky on-and-off-again relationship since 2016.

April 2023: Tristan reportedly wants Khloé back.
Thompson "would love" to get back together with Kardashian, a source tells Entertainment Tonight—and, per Daily Mail, has moved two houses away from her in Hidden Hills.
"Tristan still loves Khloé and would love to be with her again," the insider tells ET. "He’s doing whatever he can to try to prove himself to Khloé and her family."
The pair have maintained a cordial co-parenting relationship since their split, but due to the pair's previous rocky relationship—and Thompson's longstanding history of cheating—Kardashian has resolved to maintain her boundaries and reportedly "isn't in love" with him at this time.
"Tristan will always be in Khloé's life, but she isn't in love with him," another source tells ET. "She chooses to be supportive, both publicly and privately, for the sake of their children."
Still, Kardashian has reportedly been spending a lot of time with the NBA player at her home, sparking additional reconciliation rumors. "Khloé says she’s single, but in private, she acts like Tristan is her husband," another source tells OK!, adding that the two have been "doing everything together"—including breakfasts, lunches, and bedtimes alongside their two kids. "If you go to the house, he’s always around."
"They are not together, but they act like a couple, and neither are they free to be with other people," the source adds. "Tristan says the only thing he wants is for them to be together as a family."
The insider continues, "Tristan is desperate for her forgiveness and for her to love him again."
July 2022: They welcome a second child as exes.
Despite the pair's current separation, sources confirm that the two have welcomed a second child via surrogate—a decision Kardashian said they made to give daughter True a full biological sibling.
"We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November," a source tells ET. "Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing."
The pair's second child—a son—is born later in the month, on July 28.
December 2021: Tristan's paternity scandal surfaces.
Kardashian breaks things off with Thompson for good following the reveal of his paternity scandal, where the athlete is found to have conceived a son with Houston-based personal trainer Maralee Nichols while he and Kardashian were still together.
In the Season 1 finale of Hulu's The Kardashians, the Kardashian–Jenner clan discovers via court documents released by Daily Mail—and read by sister Kim Kardashian on the show—that the NBA star had a secret relationship with Nichols between December 2020 and March 13, 2021, when he and Kardashian were also a couple.
The following month, Thompson issues a public apology and admits that the child is his. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols," he writes on an Instagram Story at the time. "I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son."
Despite his rare apology and admission, however, the athlete's paternity scandal is the final straw for Kardashian.
"It's a joke, it's gross. It's a joke, it's embarrassing, it's disgusting," she says during the show's finale episode. "We're all over it. I'm like, 'I didn't buy tickets to this fucking circus, but somehow I'm watching all these clowns act out in front of me.'"
July 2020: They get back together.
A People source reports that the two are “giving their relationship another try" and that Thompson is "working hard to prove himself and has been a great dad to True.”
The reports come soon after Thompson gushed over Kardashian on her birthday with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
February 2019: The Jordyn Woods cheating scandal surfaces.
Thompson and Kardashian break up after the basketball player is caught on video cheating with Kylie Jenner's best friend, Jordyn Woods. Per E! News, Thompson and Woods were spotted out with mutual friends and seen acting “close to one another" and being flirty, before later going back to Thompson's place, where they continued "talking and cuddling for hours.” Other sources report the two kissed.
Thompson hops on Twitter to defend himself by simply stating, “FAKE NEWS”—but soon deletes the post.
The Kardashian-Jenner family is “furious” and “blindsided” by the news, per People , and feels “beyond angry and disgusted” with Jordyn. Meanwhile, Kylie is "torn" over her BFF's alleged betrayal and on how to move forward, and has been "in denial" about the situation for days, an insider also tells E!
Woods later confirms the news and publicly apologizes to Kardashian.
November 2018: They celebrate Thanksgiving alone.
The two spend a quiet Thanksgiving in Cleveland alongside daughter True, while the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan spends the holiday in L.A. On social media, the two share glimpses of their intimate celebrations as a family of three.
The two spend Christmas apart, however. (Thompson is noticeably missing from Kardashian’s holiday Instagram posts, which feature her and daughter True dressed in festive attire.) A source tells E! News this is because the athlete “doesn't have a lot of flexibility” in his NBA schedule.
September 2018: Cheating rumors re-emerge.
Per Us Weekly, the athlete and another mystery woman have been spotted “chatting and flirting” at a club in L.A.
June 2018: Khloé shuts down criticism on her relationship.
Kardashian claps back at a Twitter user who calls her a hypocrite and says Thompson is trash.
"I love, adore & root for @khloekardashian but I’m so disappointed she stayed with that wasteman Tristan," the user writes. "She preaches about women knowing their self worth and when to walk away but when it’s time to walk the walk, she’s a hypocrite 😔"
"Not exactly Queen Persia, you have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist," Kardashian responds. "I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations."
April 2018: Tristan's first cheating scandal emerges.
On April 10—pregnant and getting ready to welcome her first child with Thompson—Kardashian sees a leaked video of Thompson at a club with a woman, who he later brings back to his hotel room. Per Page Six, Kardashian goes “ballistic” and is “devastated” over the news.
The following day, Kardashian gives birth to daughter True Thompson, and the NBA player meets her and the rest of the family in the delivery room.
Weeks later, Kim breaks her silence on the scandal during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Poor Khloé," she says. "I don't even know how to describe it besides it’s just so fucked up."
"We really were rooting for Khloé, and we still are," she adds. "She's so strong, she's doing the best that she can, it's a really sad situation all over."
Still, by the following month, Kardashian and Thompson appear to be on good terms, when the two are spotted together headed to dinner, and later at a basketball game.
December 2017: They announce they are expecting.
The couple announce that they are expecting their first child together. (Kardashian later also confirms in the season finale of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, aired March 2018, that their first child will be a girl.)

In an April 2017 interview with Es Magazine, Kardashian says she has "never been in this type of love." She also admits that she and Thompson are already discussing starting a family.

Kardashian reveals the following month that she and Thompson first met on a surprise blind date set up by their mutual friend, Brandon Jennings.
"I was at the Bel-Air hotel. [Tristan] came to the dinner because I didn't want to go on a blind date, so Brandon kind of ambushed the blind date," she says at the time. "So, I had a bunch of people and he brought him, and we just connected."
