Leave it to Lady Gaga to show up at the 95th annual Academy Awards in a look that's fresh off the runway.
The singer arrived on the 2023 Oscars carpet wearing a black gown with a sheer corseted bodice and drop-waist silhouette. Eagle-eyed fashion fans may recognize the look from Versace's recent runway show in Los Angeles, where Gigi Hadid modeled the exact same dress.
Gaga accessorized the luxe dress with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a sparkling diamond necklace, a diamond bracelet, and stud diamond earrings.
Tonight, Gaga's Top Gun: Maverick track, "Hold My Hand," is nominated in the category of Best Original Song. She is up for the award against fellow nominees Rihanna for "Lift Me Up" from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; Stephanie Hsu, David Byrne, and Son Lux for "This Is a Life" from Everything Everywhere All at Once; Diane Warren and Sofia Carson for "Applause" from Tell It Like a Woman; and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava for "Naatu Naatu" from RRR.
Though the category's other nominees are all expected to perform at tonight's ceremony, Gaga will not be taking the stage.
Glenn Weiss, Oscars executive producer and showrunner, confirmed the news during a press conference last week, per Variety.
"We invited all five nominees. We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now. Here, we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie after a bunch of back and forth," Weiss said, according to the outlet. "It didn't feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we're used to with her and that she is used to. So, she is not going to perform on the show."
Gaga is currently filming Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she stars as Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.
