Come on, Barbie, let’s go—to the Golden Globes.
When Margot Robbie embarked on her international press tour for Barbie, she brought all kinds of doll-inspired looks to the red carpet, completely winning over fans even before they’d seen one of the year’s best films. Now that it’s award season, the noms for Barbie will likely keep flowing in, as evidenced by the fact that it’s the most nominated film at the Globes tonight. And the best part? That means even more red-carpet looks from the movie’s star.
Tonight, the Australian native did not disappoint. She stepped onto the red carpet wearing a Giorgio Armani Privé gown from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, reworked to draw inspiration from the 1977 SuperStar Barbie doll. The custom-made piece features hot-pink sequins, a halter neckline, and a color-coordinating tulle boa wrap that she wore around her shoulders. To accessorize, she upped the ante with jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz.
Robbie is nominated tonight for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her lead role in Barbie. While the star was able to dress the part on red carpets, she totally transformed onscreen, giving a performance that had audiences questioning whether she was actually made of plastic.
Robbie was also one of Barbie’s producers, which means she’ll also collect the prize if the movie wins Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, alongside her fellow producers David Heyman, Tom Ackerley, and Robbie Brenner.
