Gigi Hadid is back on the red carpet, just in time for Met Gala night.
For fashion’s biggest night, the supermodel made a triumphant return to the spotlight in an ivory gown by Thom Browne. The piece was an off-the-shoulder column dress with a massive detachable skirt with dramatic ruffles. The dress had a radiant sheen that accentuated Hadid’s hourglass figure, and at the center of the waist, an embroidered yellow rose with black petals took the spotlight. Other roses adorned the ample skirt, which flowed onto the carpet. To match, Hadid carried a bouquet of yellow roses tonight.
She accessorized with pointy yellow pumps, plus a diamond necklace and dangly diamond earrings from Chopard. As for glam, the model kept it timeless in a side-parted Old Hollywood bob and a red lip. She also showed off a white manicure by celebrity nail artist Mei Kawajiri, using Nailboo’s gel products.
The mom of one shared a photo from her fitting, as well as a peek at her preshow glam (which included a gold-foil face mask), on her Instagram Story this morning.
Hadid walked up the carpeted steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in the ensemble, turning heads with her artful train. Her look perfectly channeled the theme of the night, “The Garden of Time,” based on the museum’s new exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
It is, however, a complete contrast to her Met Gala 2023 dress, which was a semi-sheer black Givenchy gown that perfectly honored the goth-chic aesthetic of the late Karl Lagerfeld—whom that ceremony celebrated.
Hadid’s Met appearance this year marks the first red carpet she has hit since last September, when she attended Victoria’s Secret’s celebration of the Tour ’23 alongside her fellow VS Angels. For the occasion, Hadid went simple in a clingy lemon-yellow bodycon dress.
When she’s not front and center on the runway, the Guest in Residence founder and mom of one tends to lie low. Recently, she’s been delivering cool and casual street-style inspiration, especially on outings in New York City with boyfriend Bradley Cooper.
