All I want for Christmas this year is a peek at Katie Holmes’ shoe closet.

The actor, director, and ballet flat collector stepped out in New York City on Tuesday in a pair of pretty ballerinas that proved to be the perfect addition to Holmes’ transitional street look. They were Yuni Buffa’s Pia shoes in deep burgundy nappa leather, accented with a dainty little bow on the front. The pair retails for $395, and the minimalist Tuscany-based brand also offers them in a variety of other subtle hues.

(Holmes first repped the boutique label in 2022, when she wore their same Pia ballerinas, then in a dusty blue.)

The rest of Holmes’s fit was an elevated take on a lounge set. Up top she wore a semi-sheer black button-down with airy sleeves, white buttons, and vertical fold details throughout, from Chan Luu. And to go with the shirt, the Alone Together star pulled out the perfect black tailored wide-leg pants.

Ever the practical New Yorker, Holmes carried on her shoulder Khaite’s slouchy envelope pleat tote in sand-colored suede. And to go with her ballet flats, she added another pop of burgundy via some oversize square sunglasses from Vada. Finally, Holmes completed her low-key look with her favorite boho jewelry of the summer: tiny gold hoops, a white and gold beaded shell necklace, and her silver nose hoop.

In a 2022 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Holmes described her style as “pretty simple.” She admitted that while she finds it fun to dress up for the red carpet, the one thing in her closet she cannot live without is her old tee collection. “I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me,” she said.
