When Hannah Einbinder hits a red carpet, she wants to feel like a walking piece of art.

Despite breaking onto the Hollywood scene in only 2021, the 29-year-old star is no stranger to a Hollywood carpet. In fact, last night marked Einbinder’s second appearance and third nomination at a Golden Globes ceremony, having been recognized for every season that she’s starred in the Max comedy series Hacks thus far.

With this and other awards shows under her belt, Einbinder knows exactly how she wants to approach these events—and how she wants to dress. For the 2025 Golden Globes, that meant teaming up with her stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, and turning to Louis Vuitton’s creative director of womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquière, to create some black-tie magic.

“Nicolas is so innovative; his silhouettes and textiles are always completely unique and singular to him,” Einbinder says to Harper’s Bazaar while getting ready for the ceremony. “When you see a Louis Vuitton dress, it’s so clearly LV. I think of [Ghesquière] as a great architect. Also, personally, he’s such a warm and loving person—which only deepens the pride I feel when I wear his designs.”

On the night of the show, Einbinder floated across the carpet in a fabulous asymmetrical gown with a scalloped sash detail that was tied around one of her upper arms in a bow. The custom maxi dress featured a formfitting material with a slight train at the bottom, as well as a capelike sleeve on one side.

Einbinder clearly has a love for Louis Vuitton, given that she repped the brand at the 2024 Emmys and the 2024 Academy Museum Gala last fall. “The dress I wore to the Emmys and this one both have a sculptural quality that I so love,” Einbinder notes as she gets ready. “Because the Globes dress is this lovely bone color, it makes me feel like a Roman goddess etched from stone!”

Since splashing onto the scene with the now critically acclaimed Hacks, Einbinder has demonstrated her fashion prowess, making her one to watch on the red carpet every time award season rolls around.

The comedian loves a strong pattern or an unusual silhouette, and she’s not afraid to stand out. “My red-carpet style is elegant, chic, bold, gorgeous, and unique,” Einbinder says proudly. “That’s the Jamie Mizrahi way! In terms of what I look for in an ensemble, I think I always adore something that feels like a piece of art.”

But while Hacks has brought more visibility to Einbinder’s style, the show has also allowed the actor to show off her genuine talents onscreen, which have earned her not only Golden Globes noms but also nominations at the Emmys and wins at the Astra TV Awards and the Dorian Awards.

With all this acclaim, Einbinder isn’t taking a single moment for granted. “I’m very aware of how special the experience I’m having right now is,” she says. “Being a part of such a quality piece of comedy is so rare, and being recognized on this scale is even rarer. I feel an oceanic gratitude.”

When asked if the style of her Hacks character, Ava Daniels, had any influence on her Golden Globes look, Einbinder smiles and jokes: “No shade, and I love my girl, but Miss Ava could never.”
