Nothing provides quite as much of an intimate insight into celebrities' lives than the wedding dress they choose to wear on their big day. While other parts of the ceremony may have to take outside factors and (sometimes unwanted) input into consideration, the relationship between the bride and her dress designer is a personal and invested bond that allows for the creation of a dress that's truly unique to her.
Of course, it helps that celebrity brides will have access to some of the biggest names in haute couture, should they wish to employ their highly sought-after craft. This year saw A-list brides taking the maximalist route for their nuptials, opting for multiple dresses throughout the day and calling on different designers to bring their visions to life.

Italy proved to be the ideal wedding spot this year, with actress Rebel Wilson choosing Sardinia as the spot to tie the knot with entrepreneur Ramona Agruma. This year's royal wedding belonged to the Duke and Duchess of Westminster, who celebrated their nuptials in an understated royal affair at Chester Cathedral. Henson wore a timeless ivory silk crepe satin dress by Emma Victoria Payne with a scallop neckline and embroidered organza cuffs. Actress Talulah Riley married Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster in Hertfordshire wearing a classic corseted silk taffeta wedding dress by Phillipa Lepley with delicate bow straps. The veil spared no attention to detail, featuring hand-appliquéd ivoire French corded lace.
