Highlights from the autumn/winter 2025 shows

We round up the catwalk moments you need to see from the new season

By

The autumn/winter 2025 ready-to-wear catwalk season has officially wrapped with hundreds of shows having taken across New York, London, Milan and Paris.

The season began with a bang in New York with an off-schedule Marc Jacobs SS25 show. The designer presented his latest collection, which he devoted to courage, at the New York Public Library with plenty of A-list faces in attendance. The week continued with Calvin Klein and new creative director Veronica Leoni’s debut collection. Meanwhile, Michael Kors and Tory Burch staged shows, but Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger were notably absent.

Next, we were in London where the likes of Burberry, Simone Rocha and Erdem showed, and then onto Milan where we saw Gucci's first collection without Sabato De Sarno and Fendi celebrated its 100th anniversary with a star-studded show. Finally, we headed to Paris, where Sarah Burton presented her Givenchy debut, Saint Laurent championed the silhouette, Chanel went all out on bows and Chloé and Dior brought back some Nineties classics.

Below, see all the highlights from the AW25 season as they happened. And, if you want to delve deeper into the new or past collections, you can discover designer interviews and much more in our Fashion Week Cheat Sheets here.

Away from the main catwalk schedule, Ralph Lauren hosted a star-studded show in New York's Tribeca – with the likes of Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams and Naomi Watts on the front row. Titled 'The Modern Romantics', the collection was a celebration of "self-assured women, unbound by rules", with clothing that featured "beautiful tensions – plays of masculine and feminine, both rugged and refined". This translated to luxurious, classic separates by day; ultra-glamorous, slightly gothic gowns by night. The designer says he aims to elevate the everyday to "heirloom level", and in that he has surely succeeded; these are timeless pieces to be loved and reworn for years to come.

"From the beginning, a simplicity of silhouette – as if created with a few pencil strokes – has defined the Saint Laurent ideal," said creative director Anthony Vaccarello in his show notes of the fuss-free cuts that came down the catwalk. "Instead of speaking through ornament or padding, fabrics and precise construction shape the garments. Pure forms and volumes are derived from construction and cut." Oversized shoulders defined the day dresses, while evening ballgown skirts were paired with leather bomber jackets, and the pumps were pointed.

Aptly named 'Femininities', Miu Miu's autumn/winter 2025 collection addressed the crowd with confidence. "There is a sense of tension and anxiety today, and of fear," wrote Miuccia Prada in the show notes. "This season, we really wanted to create an elegance with nothing — through the everyday, through direct manipulations of simple pieces." Jewels and furs act as "bold gestures of the feminine," she continued, giving "importance and value and complexity to every look."

The final day of Paris Fashion Week began, as always, with Chanel. After a very long month of shows, editors and influencers gathered at the Grand Palais to see the final ready-to-wear collection from the house before new creative director Matthieu Blazy arrives (he is said to be starting next month, and will present his first collection for the house in October).

In the meantime, the autumn/winter 2025 collection was created by the in-house studio team who, this season, revisited the house signatures – the bow, the ribbon, the pearl and the flower, while nodding to the world of fairytales, and playing with proportion.

The likes of Naomi Campbell, Tyla and Dakota Fanning sat front row, while a number of the models of the moment took to the catwalk. Catch up on more about the show here.
