Welcome to Take the Edge Off, a monthly series during which we break down the beauty and self-care routines of influencers, CEOs, experts, and celebrities to discover how they unwind and decompress, while taking a closer look at the holy grail beauty essentials they're currently raving about.
If you find yourself endlessly scrolling through videos on TikTok for the latest trends and entertainment, chances are you've come across—or are already following—Christina Najjar, best known as Tinx. With more than 1.4 million TikTok followers and counting, Tinx has carved out her own lane on the Internet as the self-proclaimed "oldest girl on TikTok." While the Los Angeles–based content creator often uses a mix of humor, satire, and her own lived experiences to connect with her audience, she tells BAZAAR.com that self-care and mental health are things she takes very seriously, and encourages her followers to do the same. "I try to be super open with my followers about how much I love therapy and how important I think it is that we have someone to talk to," she says. "I always post a 'therapy selfie' each week just to remind people to take care of themselves."
For a must-needed vibe check and some good old-fashioned woosah advice, Tinx gave us the inside scoop on all the things that help her feel her very best, especially during an ongoing pandemic. While the star is a superfan of bath salts, candles, and a bevy of other relaxing beauty products, one thing's for certain: "I am more emotionally dependent on face masks than ever before," she says. For more on Tinx's soothing and grounding self-care picks, read on.
