Cynthia Erivo has made it clear that her method dressing streak is just beginning.
In the months leading up to the release of her Broadway musical film adaptation Wicked, the actor—with the help of stylist Jason Bolden—fully embraced all things green and gothic as a tribute to her character, Elphaba. And though the highly anticipated movie has since debuted, it seems Erivo isn’t finished with her thematic looks.
For her latest red-carpet appearance, she stepped out in a plunging gown that seemed reminiscent of her character—without a hint of green. Rather, her custom Louis Vuitton ensemble relied on sharp details and structured tailoring to capture Elphaba’s witchy feel.
A large white collar made up the top half of the dress, creating a neckline that dipped down to the actor’s navel. Meanwhile, a black fabric emerged from underneath the collar’s lapels, cascading down into a slinky skirt that dragged behind Erivo as she walked.
To add an extra oomph to her look, she accessorized with plenty of jewelry, showing off a stack of diamond hoops as well as a dangling pair of pearl earrings. She also accented her fingers with matching diamond rings, highlighting one of her signature manicures.
Erivo’s nails have remained a constant in her style (press tour or not) and clearly served as her main accessory here. Her elaborate manicure boasted a pattern inspired by butterfly wings, and their blue design was accented by silver glitter and rhinestones. The actor flashed her nails in several photos, posing with a (understandable) intent to flaunt every detail.
