The queen of Spain has proved she can just as easily put on a diamond tiara and monarch-worthy gown as she can stroll into a major royal event in sneakers, a netted black dress, and cool-girl loafers or, most recently, in wide-leg pants.
Queen Letizia put her royal seal of approval on the pants trend this morning when she stepped out in black trousers so loose and airy that they gave the illusion of being a skirt when the royal stood still. She paired the pants with a two-tone sweater with a frilly ivory neckline dotted with tiny, round black buttons. The lower half of the piece was an inky black, matching the rest of the queen’s ensemble.
Letizia tucked the sweater into her pants and cinched them with a skinny black leather belt. She finished her look with black leather ankle boots with block heels, plus stacked little gold hoop earrings. Her hair was down in a side-parted blow-out, and she wore her signature smoky maroon eye and glossy pink lip.
The royal wore the casually chic outfit to visit Caravaca de la Cruz, Spain, which is home to a wood fragment of the Holy Cross and since January 2024 has been celebrating its Jubilee year. (Learn more about the news here.)
Letizia was accompanied on the outing by her husband, King Felipe VI, who stayed classic in a navy suit, white dress shirt, patterned vibrant-blue tie, black dress shoes, and a gold pin of the Holy Cross.
