Queen Letizia knows exactly how to shake up a royal wardrobe.

On Monday, Spain’s most stylish royal stepped out in her favorite funky little black dress. The jacquard-weave midi in inky silk features deep V-neck cuts in the front and back, a subtle A-line skirt, and distressed fringe details all over that give it some unexpected texture.

As befits the ever-relatable queen, Letizia’s go-to midi dress actually hails from über-affordable brand H&M. The piece is from the Swedish retailer’s Conscious 2018 collection—which focused on using reusable fabrics—and sadly, it is no longer being sold.

The queen previously wore the black dress to the Princesa de Girona Foundation 2023 awards, as well as to the 40th anniversary of the Flag Oath of the XLIV class of the General Military Academy earlier this year. And this week, Letizia took the dress out again for a spin to attend the opening of the 2024–25 season of the Royal Theatre in Madrid.

This time, the royal paired the LBD with silver ribbed sandals with a block heel and ankle strap, from Aquazzura, plus a metallic leather rectangle clutch and large silver hoop earrings. Always keeping things interesting with her beauty looks, she wore a burgundy smoky eye and a glossy lip, and had her chocolate brown hair down in a breezy blowout.

Husband King Felipe VI looked elegant in a classic black suit, which he wore with a white dress shirt, poppy blue tie, and glossy black dress shoes.
