Four months later than originally scheduled, the biggest night in television finally returned, better than ever—and X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) was along for the ride.
The stars from every binge-worthy show on TV gathered tonight at Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, with Black-ish actor and comedian Anthony Anderson serving as host. The ceremony was slated to take place last September, but was postponed due to the historic Hollywood strikes that shut down the entertainment industry last year.
After patiently waiting this whole time, fans finally got to see their favorite onscreen ensembles get their due (or could unleash their wrath on X if their favorite shows didn’t win). Among tonight’s nominees were The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White, Succession’s Sarah Snook and Jeremy Strong, and The Last of Us’s Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal.
As expected, the ceremony was rife with viral moments, both on the red carpet and inside the theater. Ahead, we’ve rounded up the best 39 tweets.
