There’s no better way to celebrate Hollywood’s biggest night than to honor the timeless elegance of Old Hollywood—which is exactly what Sydney Sweeney did at the Vanity Fair 2024 Oscars after-party Sunday night.

Not only did the Euphoria star look breathtakingly beautiful, she also paid homage to two film legends: Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe.

Sweeney waltzed across the carpet in a look that bore a striking resemblance the Some Like It Hot star’s iconic white halter dress and blonde curls—to the point that it had us doing double takes. The centerpiece of Sweeney’s ensemble was an archival Marc Bouwer gown in a creamy bone-white hue.

The silky dress featured a daringly low halter neckline that plunged down her torso just above her navel, ultra-long halter straps that cascaded down the frock’s completely open-back design, ruching details along the waist, and a sweeping fluid skirt that trailed behind her. She paired it with a matching shawl that she draped across her arms and platform heels by Piferi.

The Anyone but You star elevated the look even more with classic diamond stud earrings and layers of diamond necklaces featuring two large silver medallions in the center, both from Messika. In another nod to Monroe, Sweeney debuted a short wavy bob, and radiated in glowy, dewy makeup complete with champagne eye shadow, a glossy nude-pink lip, and French manicured nails.

To make things even more special, it turns out the gown was the same piece Jolie once wore to the Oscars 20 years ago. Then 28 years old, the Girl, Interrupted star was a vision at the 76th Academy Awards in 2004, having styled the dress with her own diamond studs and layers of necklaces. For her look, she wore her hair in a sophisticated half-up, half-down ’do and glammed up with fresh, soft makeup complete with thin black winged eyeliner and a rosy-pink lip.

Bouwer highlighted the moment on Instagram, posting a slideshow of Sweeney and Jolie in his ethereal creation. “From the archives. Worn to the Oscars in 2004 by Angelina Jolie, and now on the beautiful @sydney_sweeney . On its 20th anniversary I couldn’t ask for a better revival. Thank you @mollyddickson for your impeccable styling & @paulmargolin for helping to make this happen!” he captioned the post.
