Edible beauty trends show no signs of slowing down. Foodie beauty moments like butter skin and blueberry-milk nails have taken the cake for some of the most viral looks of the year, and the latest lip trend conjures another delectable food item: jam. Chalk it up to Meghan Sussex (née Markle) and her new As Ever raspberry spread or simply the fact that it’s nearly berry-picking season, but jam is on the minds (and lips) of the entire Bazaar team in the form of juicy new lip shades.
I first clocked the rise of jam-hued lips when Hailey Bieber’s brand, Rhode, launched its Peptide Lip Tint in PBJ back in March, a warm berry brown inspired by the childhood- favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The lip tint was paired with the brand’s two new jam-inspired blush shades. All of a sudden, I had a craving for juicy, jam-colored lips.
Jam lips are not to be mistaken with jelly lips, which focus more on a sheer finish than the color and include lip products that give a glazed-over look, although some of the jam-hued products do have a glossy finish. Also not to be mistaken for berry-red or pink lips, the trending jammy color toes the line between brown and burgundy. This makes it more wearable for the season than a classic berry lip, which is typically reserved for the fall and winter but was seen on the spring/summer 2025 runways of Rachel Comey and Peter Do.
The perfect jam lip will live somewhere between peanut butter and jelly. It will be the prettiest parts of brown toast and sheer raspberry jam. Are you following me? To get the look, I love the berry shade of the newly revamped Dior Addict Lip Glow for a base color before adding Eadem’s Le Chouchou gloss on top for a high-shine jam lip. However, if you prefer a matte finish, there are highly pigmented lipsticks that boast the brown-berry shade while also nourishing the lips, like Merit’s Signature in L’Avenue. I’d be remiss to leave out lip stains, which are all the rage right now for getting long-lasting natural color. Many lip stains, such as Sacheu’s TikTok viral formula, veer on the side of a deeper berry shade because it’s meant to mimic the natural pinky-purple shade of your lips.
This trend is a reminder that any beauty look, like a berry lip, can be tweaked or adapted to work for whatever season we’re in.
