As much as we hoped, wished, and crossed every finger and toe for a Zendaya-and–Tom Holland Oscars date, it was just not in the cards tonight. The Euphoria star made her appearance at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre solo.
Though understandably disappointing for Tomdaya fans everywhere, who were looking to enjoy some adorable red-carpet moments between the sweetheart couple (ahem: me!), Holland’s absence isn’t much of a surprise. The Crowded Room star was not nominated for an Academy Award tonight, nor was he slated to present or perform. In fact, Holland has attended the Oscars only once, in 2018. (Zendaya was also present that year, but they walked the carpet separately and had not been romantically linked yet.)
The “Replay” singer is not up for any nods either, but she joins a star-studded group of presenters. The A-list roster includes the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Michelle Yeoh, Emily Blunt, America Ferrera, Ryan Gosling, Ariana Grande, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino, Octavia Spencer, Anya Taylor-Joy, and many others. Although Zendaya has yet to clinch an Oscar nomination, she has attended the event quite a few times over the years: She made her debut in 2015 and returned in 2018, 2021, and 2022. However, the lovebirds both skipped last year’s ceremony to enjoy some quality time together in London.
Zendaya might have made her entrance alone, but she gave us a lot to obsess over. When it comes to fashion, the pop icon simply never misses. She dropped our jaws again in a metallic pink and gray one-shoulder gown covered in illustrations of palm trees.
Holland and Zendaya were last spotted together in February, when they stepped out for a rare public date night in London following the world premiere of Dune: Part Two. They coordinated in sleek black looks and looked so loved-up for the occasion. Here’s hoping our 2025 bingo cards include an Oscars debut from the pair.
