On the red carpet, Zoë Kravitz simply can’t resist the power of a black dress.
Black dresses—specifically, black dresses designed by Saint Laurent—have become a tried-and-true staple for the Blink Twice director. Last night’s Vanity Fair Oscars after-party was no exception. Kravitz arrived on the red carpet in yet another black gown that oozed with refined and minimalist sophistication—that is, until she turned around.
From the front, Kravitz’s dress featured sleek and simple lines, from the long sleeves to the figure-hugging silhouette. But, from the back, she offered a cheeky little surprise. The dress showed a sheer black panel embellished with a grid of tiny pearls. The panels curved downwards, cinching slightly at her waist with a black bow, before dipping further down to reveal a peep of the top of her behind.
To accessorize, Kravitz wore an array of diamond jewelry that included drop earrings, multi-tiered strand bracelets, and stacked rings. Beauty-wise, she kept her makeup to a soft, natural glam and styled her hair in a slick side-part bun.
While Kravitz’s love of black dresses clearly isn’t going anywhere any time soon, the actor has recently colored outside of the lines with a few boho-inspired looks. For instance, at Saint Laurent’s pre-Oscars party, she opted to wear a slinky clementine orange slipdress, which included champagne lace along the bust and a ruffled high-low hemline. And during Paris Fashion Week, she stepped out in a frilly beige minidress, which she paired with multi-colored green, orange, pink, and blue heels.
