With New York Fashion Week in full swing, our editors have been racing across the city to see the new collections and what big trends are ahead. While Phoebe Philo–esque minimalism continues to dominate, we’re already starting to spot the return of bootleg jeans and argyle knits across the Fall/Winter 2025 runways, along with the continued presence of playful patterns like polka dots and animal prints.
This Fashion Week has been predictably cold, plus there’s been a wintry mix of icy-cold slush to navigate throughout the city. But we love a challenge.
Below, 12 Bazaar editors share what they’re wearing for Fashion Week, from toasty statement coats and sleek weatherproof boots to their go-to jewelry.
Michella Oré, Fashion Commerce Editor
“This Fashion Week is a wet one, so I’ve been slipping on this classic single-breasted trench from Madewell. It’s water-resistant (necessary for on/off rain showers) and cut to a slightly oversize fit that’s perfect for layering over a thick sweater. For pants, I’ve been loving these pinstripe trousers from Argent. They’re made from a lightweight wool blend that keeps me warm as I commute across the city for shows. My peachy-pink bandanna from Extreme Cashmere is another cold-weather necessity. It protects my face from the crazy wind chill without messing up my hair. Last, I love a crossbody that can quickly transition from day to night, and this studded suede style from Paris/64 ensures my essentials are always close at hand.”
Olivia Alchek, Senior Designer
“During Fashion Week, I need my outfit to be comfortable, practical, and chic. Running around the city from show to show means I’ll be on my feet for much of the day, so I opt for a fun platform loafer that I can wear for hours. I like to base my outfit around one key piece I’m excited about—at the moment, I’m obsessed with my chocolate-brown suede blazer from Reformation—and build from there. An oversize tote bag is a must, so I have all of my essentials on me at all times. And to finish off the look, I’ll go with a classic pair of wide-leg jeans and simple accessories to tie the look together.”

“I love a double-denim moment, especially if that denim is not scratchy and restrictive. I recently got this set from DL1961, and it’s the comfiest outfit I own. The super-soft treated denim is a life changer and was a great fit for running around the city on the first day of NYFW. These girly, plush slingbacks from Scanlan Theodore dress up any day look, and their band hugs the ankle just the right way to make them super comfy to walk in. I can’t stop wearing them. As for Mango’s leather shopper? I mean, need I say more? This tote fits my entire life in it, and its sheer size adds the level of drama that I crave to any look.”
Lynette Nylander, Executive Digital Director
“I like to approach Fashion Week as a justification for my frivolous fashion choices during the year. I think to myself, if not for Fashion Week, then when? I like the clashy merch-tee feeling this bolero top from Vaquera gives, and these Loewe toy boots are really one of Jonathan Anderson’s greatest designs. Also, the weather is super unpredictable in New York right now, so you need a hat. I dream of this Prada one.”
Chelsey Sanchez, Editor
“The extreme temperatures this season are summoning the warmest materials out of my closet: wool, leather, cashmere. I love and depend on the versatility of knits, like this plush gray cashmere Prada shrug, which pairs deliciously with my more traditional wool tartan wrap skirt from Polo Ralph Lauren. Wearing skirts in the winter is only permissible if you accompany them with the right pair of knee-high leather boots, and I’m recruiting this equestrian-style pair from Black Suede Studio to do the job. Winter or otherwise, Brilliant Earth diamonds are an all-year-long accessory—and besides, they seem to sparkle the brightest against the snow.”
Alexandra Delifer, Executive Assistant to the Editor in Chief
“New York has been bitterly cold this year, and this sweater is working overtime but getting the job done. I love to bring a little color into these gloomy days we’ve been having, but leather pants are my failsafe go-to for giving my ensembles a finished look, no matter how bundled up I am! To complete the look, I love to wear my Dior D-Unit boots (which also give me a little height!), and I’m never without my Maria Tash helix earring.”
Joel Calfee, Assistant Editor
“When I looked at the weather report and saw that there was a forecast for rain and snow all weekend, I knew I needed to be prepared. So I’ll be layering up with this brushed-cashmere cardigan from Banana Republic that I absolutely adore. Meanwhile, I recently got a jacket from Moose Knuckles that keeps me warmer than any coat ever has, and this puffer would look supremely stylish running from one show to the next. Finally, I’ll be finishing things off with a few black accessories, like these Dr. Martens boots, which will navigate well through the slush, and the Freja Lafayette tote, which will be able to hold my laptop, chargers, and many, many snacks.”
Leah Chernikoff, Executive Editor
“This weather continues to be miserable, and leather trousers are the perfect foil for this slushy onslaught. They are kiiind of like extremely chic snow pants, if you’re willing to be creative about it, which I am. Leset’s pointelle tee has become a staple base layer. I love the scalloped neckline peeking out from a crewneck sweater. It’s so dry out, and my skin is so sad about it, so the beauty team pointed me toward UBeauty’s super hydrator and I’m now hooked (sorry to my wallet). My skin drinks it up, and it looks plump and dewy after.”
Kristina Ang, Social Video Coordinator
“I hate to admit that I am not someone who wears a lot of colors, so in order to spice up my look, I’m opting for things with unique silhouettes and fun patterns. I love this jacket from Belle because it offers such a nice shape, but also who doesn’t love polka dots? These are by far my favorite pair of jeans that I own! I get people stopping me all the time to ask me where I get my barrel-leg jeans, and they’re from GU. They have a very toned-down barrel silhouette, so it’s still very much within my comfort zone. As a little pop of color, I do love a good pair of red flats, and these Sandy Liang ones are just perfect.”
Faith Brown, Senior Social Media Editor
“If my phone died during NYFW, I would too! I love this charger because it’s small and unnoticeable but still gets the job done. A full day of shows means getting dressed in the morning and not returning home until after dinner. That’s when I turn to the Bette boot; they are the perfect boot for day-to-night looks while still remaining comfortable and chic.”
Julie Tong, Senior Commerce Content Lead
“Aligne is one of my favorite new labels hailing from London, and it makes the most fabulous waistcoats. Called Daphne, the blazer cinches at the waist and makes me look elegant and pulled together with little to no effort. I’m planning to pair it with my split-hem skirt from the Scandi label Baum und Pferdgarten. And I’ll finish off the look with my favorite winter boots from Loeffler Randall, which feature a sleek square toe and a small heel that adds a bit of height to my petite frame. And finally, because I always need access to my phone while running between shows, St. Agni’s woven crossbody case stores it within reach while keeping me hands-free while in transit.”
Tiffany Dodson Davis, Beauty Commerce Editor
“Don’t let the season’s glamorous street-style looks fool you—it’s cold in New York right now! Bundling up in this extra-long teddy coat helps keep me warm when running from show to show and always goes with whatever outfit I’m wearing underneath. For a hint of easy sparkle, these Collina Strada earrings are among my go-tos, whether I’m wearing a white tee and jeans or a ball gown. Not to brag, but I’ve gotten several compliments on these sturdy jeans from BDG, and that’s not the only reason they’re one of my favorite pairs. The jeans are vintage-inspired but not overly boxy, with a high-waist fit that nicely cinches me in. This luxe bag from Dior seamlessly holds my phone, mints, and the copious amount of lipsticks/liners/oils I keep in rotation on any given day. Plus, it quickly elevates any look as soon as I drape it over a shoulder or across my chest.”
