This ain’t Texas, it’s the Cowboy Carter Tour.
On April 28, Beyoncé got her latest world-dominating tour buckin’ with a series of shows in Inglewood, California. And for the next three months, the superstar will be taking her concert experience across the United States, France, and England, with a three-hour extravagant set that encompasses tracks from not just Cowboy Carter, but also Renaissance, Lemonade, Dangerously in Love, and more.
But while the setlist may be varied, the theme for this tour is of course “country,” and Beyoncé has incorporated all kinds of Western visuals leading up to it (done her way of course), which are inspiring the looks worn by fans to the shows.
Here at Harper’s Bazaar, those lucky few of us with tickets have already started planning our outfits, while others holding out hope are compiling their ideas too, for what they might wear.
So, if you’re still figuring out your outfit and need a little inspiration, we’ve got you covered. Ahead, see what our editors are wearing to the Cowboy Carter Tour—oh, and if you happen to be looking for last-minute tickets, you can still nab some here too.

So much of the Cowboy Carter era has been defined by denim (I’m sure you’ve seen those many Levi’s ads). But because I’ll be seeing Queen Bey in late May when the temperatures start heating up, I thought the perfect solution would be to wear a denim romper. This belted piece from Elisabetta Franchi certainly does the trick. Then, I want to add even more Western touches with a set of stunning knee-high boots from Brother Vellies (which seems fitting, given that founder Aurora James made a pair of custom Cowboy Carter ones when the album first came out), as well as a black cowboy hat. Finally, I’ll top things off with a brown saddle bag and a bolo tie—because why not lean all in? I have to stay true to my Southern roots. It’s what Beyoncé would want.

I honestly can’t wait to embrace my inner cowgirl for the Cowboy Carter Tour and I’m using the show as an opportunity to really stretch myself out of my stylistic comfort zone, while still purchasing pieces that I can wear for the rest of the summer season. I’m in love with this studded denim mini skirt from Gimaguas that I’m planning to pair with an eyelet corset top from Free People and leather cowboy boots from Western mainstay Tecovas. For accessories, a matching cowboy hat is a non-negotiable for the night, as are a few pieces of turquoise jewelry—Chan Luu has an amazing selection of pieces out right now. Also since I’m seeing my first show of the tour in Chicago and you’ll never know what the weather might be, a black denim jacket from Levi’s doubles as an insurance policy. For my second tour stop in New Jersey, I’m daydreaming about these snake boots from Mexican brand Montserrat Messeguer paired with an easy lace slip dress—very saloon inspired if you will! And while not a style moment, I’ll be sure to run a few drops of Cécred’s Nourishing Hair Oil through my hair before leaving for the night for an extra dose of shine.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Western fashion, so I’ll be pulling out the closest thing I have to cowboy boots for my turn at the Cowboy Carter Tour: my tried-and-true pair of Frye Campus boots. They look great when paired with a dress—especially this delicate lace-trimmed piece from Frankies Bikinis (which just so happens to be a beloved brand from another cowgirl icon, Bella Hadid). For accessories, I’m mixing in some of my go-to basics, like these classic black sunnies from Otra, with unique jewelry shapes, like a red-bean cord necklace by Heaven Mayhem. The true statement piece, however, will be my cow print bag. I’m taking particular inspiration from this sleek take on the trend from the Italian label Benedetta Bruzziches.

Every so often, someone or something pulls me back into the Western fashion trend. Not too long ago, it was Raf Simons at Calvin Klein who convinced me, and now it’s Beyoncé. For her Cowboy Carter tour, I’d plan to wear my favorite snap button-up shirt (via the Madewell and Alexa Chung collab), my favorite Levi’s blue jeans, a sleek Western-inspired belt, and a pair of Miron Crosby cowboy boots—it’s a look that I hope will make Bey proud.

Since Western fashion isn’t a part of my typical sense of style, I think it could be fun to play around with different trends and textures. Mixing suede fringe with silk ruffles plays into the vibe while adding a boho spin. Instead of going for the expected cowboy boots, I’m opting for an edgier moto boot—it still has that Western flare, and I’ll be super comfortable as I dance all night.

I love a theme! Bella Hadid has proved that Western style can be understated and elevated, which is going to be my vibe for Cowboy Carter. This white midi dress I would wear anywhere, and the chocolate shoulder hobo has become an easy everyday laptop bag for me. Now, the cowboy boots and hat? Those are just for Beyoncé.

Cowboy style on the nose really isn’t particularly a look I can pull off, but I can do subtle nods for our beloved Beyoncé. I really love Bode’s satin, Western-inspired shirts and recently I’ve been enlightened to Le Monde Beryl’s suede flats that are really wonderful quality. These Jennifer Fisher knot huggie earrings also remind me of a lasso!
