Monica Barbaro and Andrew Garfield have both made their entrances at the 2025 Oscars, but the new couple did not walk the red carpet side by side.
Garfield looked dapper in a chocolate-brown suit by Gucci, worn with a silky caramel top, deep-brown shoes, and chunky black glasses with burnt-orange lenses.
Barbaro, meanwhile, was beautiful in a plunging princess gown with a sequined cream bust and a baby-pink corseted bodice and billowing skirt. For a final touch, she added a diamond necklace and matching earrings.
Barbaro is nominated tonight in the category of Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. Garfield is not nominated this time around, but he is part of the star-studded group of presenters who will take the stage during the ceremony.
Garfield and Barbaro began quietly dating earlier this year (despite fan theories that the We Live in Time star would end up with Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg). Despite being big names in the movie world today, the actors have kept their romance quiet.
In January, Garfield and Barbaro were first photographed together at a W magazine party in Los Angeles, where they posed with Garfield’s arm wrapped around Barbaro’s waist. She looked incredible in a see-through cutout black dress, while he wore a beige suit and blue tie.
In February, a fan captured a video of Garfield and Barbaro in the audience of Jonathan Bailey’s West End production of Richard II. The clip showed the two chatting and laughing while in casual outfits and coordinating baseball caps.
An insider told People that the actors are being “low-key” about their relationship and have been “spending time together quietly,” which explains why they wouldn’t want to show off their romance on the red carpet and on live TV. We can respect that.
