Rachel Zegler is red-carpet-ready.
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes star has officially arrived at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre for the 97th annual Academy Awards ceremony. For the occasion, Zegler put an elegant twist on the sheer trend, slipping into a silvery Dior ball gown with a translucent corseted bodice and a slightly see-through skirt. The entire dress appeared to be studded in pearls and crystals—sparkly details that coordinated perfectly with her array of diamond jewelry.
As for her glam, makeup artist Allan Avendano kept things classic with Dior Beauty, giving the actor warm eyeshadow and a soft rosy lip.
For her red-carpet and press-tour looks, the actor frequently works with celebrity stylist Sarah Slutsky Tooley. Zegler opened up about collaborating creatively with Tooley during a 2024 interview.
“What I’ve really loved about working with Sarah—and I’ve been working with her since 2020—is that she is willing to be a collaborator and not be [like]: ‘My word is law. This is what you’re wearing.’... It just feels like you’re playing dress-up with your friends, and she’s such a girlfriend to me,” she said at the time, adding that Tooley helps her exude confidence for her public appearances. “When I’m on a carpet, I want the attitude of the five-foot-nine-inch girl that I was born to be,” Zegler joked.
Zegler is among tonight’s slate of star-studded presenters. The list also includes fellow A-listers like Halle Berry, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Lily-Rose Depp, Oprah Winfrey, Elle Fanning, Scarlett Johansson, and Penélope Cruz.
Zegler last attended the Academy Awards back in 2022; at the time, the West Side Story actor presented the award for Best Visual Effects alongside Jacob Elordi.
