It’s the first Monday in May, and that means we’re about to see celebrities in all sorts of unattainable, larger-than-life styles. That’s why it was fun to see Rosalía stepping out in New York City ahead of the big night in a super relatable slogan T-shirt and sneakers.
The “La Noche de Anoche” singer’s white tee was stamped with a message in bold black font. It read: “Protect Me From What I Want.” Is it an ode to an unreleased Dua Lipa song (or a released Placebo song), an appreciation of artist Jenny Holzer, or is it just a super-relatable message of desire versus reality? We love it either way.
She gave the look a balletcore spin with a voluminous drop-waist white maxi skirt that was tight at the waist and then billowed out like a cake topper.
As for shoes, she opted for comfort with a pair of white New Balance sneakers—after all, she’ll likely be wearing sky-high heels when we next see her, on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s carpeted steps. The sneaks she chose, however, were the 442 PRO FG V2 soccer shoes with neon-green cleats—so, we guess Rosalía is just ready to drop into a pick-up match whenever.
We don’t know what the “Despechá” singer will be wearing to the Met Gala tonight, but judging by the striking black Dior Haute Couture dress and netted veil she debuted at the event last year, we know her ensemble will be a sight to see.
