Although the Wicked press tour gave us some iconic memes and outfits, we’re glad to see that Cynthia Erivo isn’t obliged to wear Elphaba green again for at least a few more months. (Although, the sunglasses she debuted with her latest fit do feel a little Ozian.)

Tonight’s Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and Erivo is already getting into the spirit.

At the UTA Pre-Met Gala Soiree, the Widows actress wore an oversize brown suit. The jacket was double breasted and fell below the actor’s waist. The cut of the shoulders gave the suit a sharp, tailored look—right on brand with the Met Gala’s dress code, “Tailored for You.” Under the blazer, Erivo she wore a striped collared shirt with a purple tie. Her elegant pants, meanwhile, were so long they covered her shoes completely.

She finished the look with red-tinted frameless glasses and her signature long nails.

As evidenced by her style streak over the past year, Erivo is always having the most fun with her outfits.

Her stylist, Jason Bolden, said in a 2020 interview: “On the carpet, we’re having fun, because at the end of the day, we want to make someone else who has never had an opportunity or thinks they can’t do it see a joyous reflection of themselves.”

At least year’s Met Gala, Erivo joined Wicked co-star Ariana Grande to sing “When You Believe” to thunderous applause. We can’t wait to see what happens this year
