Meghan Markle's transition from a popular TV star on Suits to a member of the Royal family and beyond has the makings of a Hollywood film. From her signature glossed brunette to her increasingly sophisticated make-up looks, the Duchess of Sussex has long served as a international beauty muse, showcasing an classic array of golden eyeshadows, tousled ponytails and, of course, one truly a classic wedding up-do since entering the public eye in 2005.

Most recently, the Duchess revisited the glamorous bun – which she always wears with a finish oozing carefree elegance – sporting an undone up-do with face framing tendrils for Project Healthy Minds' World Mental Health Day Festival 2023.

As with her go-to hairstyles, she has clear preferences with her make-up, too. While looks like purple lids arrived and swiftly left, many elements of Markle's signature look have remained consistent since her younger years. To this day you'll find the Duchess of Sussex sporting the same post-holiday warmth, a peach-hued flush and a timeless smouldering smoky eye she wore nearly two decades ago.

Here we look back at Meghan Markle's major milestones in beauty from 2005 to 2023.

In 2012, Markle went back to darker, richer tones that made her hair look super glossy. Not afraid to experiment on the red carpet, the actress wore a slicked-back ponytail with purple eyeshadow at an event for Suits season two.

Styled by celebrity hairstylist Serge Normand, the new Duchess of Sussex's wedding hairstyle was a low, loose mega-bun, topped off with Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara.

Letting her natural beauty shine through, the make-up artist Daniel Martin added a light base to Markle's skin to exacerbate her bridal glow. Chocolate shades on her eyes, paired with lengthening mascara and perhaps some individual false lashes, beautifully defined her eyes.
