Princess Catherine and Prince William kicked off their two-day visit to the Isles of Mull and Iona today, and looked every bit the posh, modern royals they are in their preppy spring ensembles.
Kate looked straight out of a country club in a chocolate-brown herringbone blazer from Holland Cooper. The double-breasted piece, adorned with golden buttons at the center and sleeves, retails for $929.
Known as the Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, Kate layered the blazer over a sky-blue linen button-up from Boden. And she let the cuffs of the breezy shirt peek out at the wrists under her blazer—the preppiest of style hacks.
For bottoms, the Princess of Wales opted for some classic high-waisted black skinny jeans and her go-to brown suede hiking boots. She accessorized with dangly silver teardrop earrings, her C (for Catherine) necklace, another silver chain, a silver watch, and her diamond-and-sapphire engagement ring from William.
Later in the day, Kate popped on a some brown tortoiseshell sunglasses from British eyewear brand Finlay.
William coordinated with his wife in a gray blazer with a subtle plaid pattern featuring streaks of sky blue, plus a crisp white dress shirt, navy slacks, a brown belt, and brown suede boots.
During their visit to Scotland’s Isle of Mull, the Waleses will connect with local communities and continue their efforts to help preserve the natural environment.
The trip also falls on the couple’s 14th wedding anniversary. The setting is sentimental, as Scotland is where Kate and Will first met when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews.
