Princess Catherine and Prince William are spending a lovely time visiting the Isle of Mull.
The Telegraph describes the couple as being very affectionate, with Kate often resting her head on her husband’s shoulder during their daytime activities. But when it comes down to doing hands-on labor, Kate knows knows how to get to work.
While touring a local community hall—that the couple’s Royal Foundation had just pledged money to help refurbish—Kate and William rolled up their sleeves and pitched in. In photos, you can see that Kate grabbed a nail gun right away. According to the Telegraph, William joked that Kate needed to be careful with the trigger, “otherwise our trip will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.”
But actually, Kate was a total pro and everyone at the event was impressed by her know-how. She told people at the center that she actually got a chainsaw as a gift at Christmas to help in her gardening.
For the volunteering day, the Princess of Wales wore a Holland Cooper blazer and brown suede hiking boots, which are nice and thick and very practical for operating power tools.
Intriguingly, while talking to a local beekeeper, Kate revealed that her summer project is keeping bees. She even asked for information about wax candle molds.
For his part, Prince William, at the request of Kate, helped his wife paint one flower on a mural. So sweet.
The Waleses kicked off their two-day trip—just in time for their 14th wedding anniversary—to the Scottish island on Tuesday. The pair actually visited the territory in 2013, when they were in university and fresh into their romance.
