Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan bundled up as they touched down in Canada for the Invictus Games. A deeply personal event for both royals, the Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler. The international sporting event welcomes injured, inactive military personnel and veterans to compete, and both Meghan and Harry have annually uplifted the participants while highlighting their stories and their strength.
This year, athletes have been given the opportunity to participate in both winter and indoor adaptive sports, including alpine skiing, alpine snowboarding, biathlon, Nordic skiing, skeleton, and wheelchair curling. The games will run from February 8 to February 16.
“As Invictus continues to adapt and evolve, I am extremely excited to announce that the Invictus Games Foundation has selected Canada to host the first-ever Winter Hybrid Games in 2025,” Harry said in a statement in 2022 as he announced the 2025 Invictus Games. “The Invictus Games Vancouver-Whistler 2025 will offer a global platform to expand the range and profile of winter adaptive sports. With deep respect, I’m also pleased to share that the Games in Canada will be held in partnership with the First Nations, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with indigenous communities.”
