Duchess Meghan for president?

The Duchess of Sussex recently made her first-ever podcast appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show Podcast, where she opened up about everything from motherhood to having to prove herself and more. But one of the most notable moments was when Meghan discussed whether she would ever run for office.

Amidst a conversation about politics, Kern Lima asked the royal: “Would you ever run for office?” To which Meghan replied, “No. Never. Oh, God.”

Despite strongly turning this idea down, Meghan did add: “I mean, you could say, ‘Never say never.’” But, she affirmed her opinion by repeating, “No, I’m not interested in that. No.”

Although she might not be putting her name on the ballot any time soon, the duchess will continue to stand for her values, and pursue charitable endeavors that matter to her. Protecting the environment, working with disabled athletes, and promoting a safe internet culture for children are all things that she and husband Prince Harry have made their focus ever since they stepped down as senior members of the British royal family.

In the past, the pair have opened up about civil rights, reproductive safety, protections for children on the internet, and more. And recently, it was even reported that their Archewell Foundation was giving donations to figures tied to the Democratic Party.

Back in 2021, Meghan opened up about why she was starting to become more vocal with her politics during a summit with The New York Times DealBook Online. “My husband has always said, ‘With great privilege comes great responsibility,’ but even before I had any sort of privilege in my life, when my life and my lifestyle were very different, I always just stood up for what’s right,” she said.
