Prince George joined dad Prince William to cheer on their favorite soccer team during a match against Paris Saint-Germain. The surprise sighting marked the 11 year old’s first public appearance of the year.
The father-and-son duo were seen sitting in the stands amongst a crowd of fellow fans at Paris’s Parc des Princes on Wednesday. William wore a collared blue jacket from Octobre Éditions, layered atop a light blue collared button-down and a black collared polo sweater. George looked like William’s mini me by following suit. He wore a navy collared jacket, a white button-down with a gray grid pattern, and a light-blue sweater. Princess Kate and the other Wales children—Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—were not seen at the stadium. (The kids are currently on vacation from school ahead of Easter.)
During the event, George and William were photographed having animated reactions to the game. At one point, William broke out into a celebration by hugging George—a rare instance of public affection from the British royal family.
William later shared a behind-the-scenes video from the match on Instagram. “A big night in the Champions League under the lights,” the caption read. “Not the result we wanted but it’s not over yet! Bring on the second leg at Villa Park!”
William often brings along George to watch soccer games; the two were previously seen together in the stands at the 2024 Euro Cup finals in Berlin and another Aston Villa match in Birmingham last summer.
